Description
Western Digital WD360ADFD 36GB 3.5" SATA Raptor Hard Drive 10000 RPM
The Western Digital WD360ADFD is a 36GB 3.5-inch SATA hard drive from WD's Raptor series, running at 10,000 RPM. The Raptor line was WD's performance-tier desktop drive built around the faster spindle speed traditionally found in enterprise SCSI drives, delivering significantly lower seek times and higher sustained transfer rates than the 7,200 RPM desktop drives of its era. This unit has been inspected, cleaned, and tested at our facility and is in good working order.

Applications
The WD Raptor series was introduced in the early-to-mid 2000s and targeted performance desktop workstations, gaming PCs, and budget-conscious server builds that needed faster-than-consumer storage without moving to full enterprise SAS or SCSI. The 10,000 RPM spindle speed gave Raptor drives a meaningful advantage in random I/O workloads — boot times, application loading, and database tasks — compared to standard 7,200 RPM desktop drives of the same period. The WD360ADFD specifically dates from the 2006–2007 timeframe, when the Raptor was competing against early consumer SATA drives while enterprise buyers used it as an affordable alternative to SCSI. Today these drives are sought by vintage PC builders, retro gaming system restorers, and legacy workstation maintainers who need an original-spec SATA drive for a period-correct build or a system replacement.
This Western Digital WD360ADFD Raptor 36GB SATA hard drive has been inspected, cleaned, and tested at our facility and is in good working order. The drive shows normal cosmetic wear consistent with prior use. The label on the top cover is intact and legible, the SATA connectors are clean and undamaged, and the PCB shows no visible damage.
