Applications
The Wegener 1602 STS system was deployed in broadcast stations and telecom facilities for receiving satellite-distributed content and ATIS (Automatic Transmitter Identification System) signals. The integrated MP-4050 modulator processes and outputs modulated signals compatible with Wegener STS satellite receiver networks. Commonly used in radio station automation chains and emergency alert distribution systems.

The unit was pulled from a working environment where it was actively in use and functional. The chassis shows normal surface wear consistent with rack use. The Micro Phase MP-4050 ATIS Modulator card is installed and visible in the front bay, with its CXR ALM and CXR LEV indicator LEDs and DB-25 connector intact.
