Description
Wavetek 75 Arbitrary Waveform Generator Option 001 IEEE-488 GPIB TTL ARB Out
The Wavetek Model 75 is a benchtop arbitrary waveform generator (AWG) capable of generating user-defined waveforms as well as standard waveshapes. It features a front-panel alphanumeric LCD, dedicated function and menu keys, and a large rotary encoder for parameter entry. Option 001 adds the IEEE-488 (GPIB) interface for remote programmable control from a controller or PC. This unit is manufactured in the USA and accepts both 115V and 230V line voltages.

Applications
Arbitrary waveform generators like the Wavetek 75 are used in electronics R&D, component characterization, and automated test systems wherever a precisely shaped or custom waveform is needed. The AWG can reproduce real-world signals — modulated carriers, transients, noise bursts, or digitized waveforms — making it useful for testing amplifiers, filters, ADCs, DACs, and communications circuits. The GPIB interface (Option 001) allows the instrument to be integrated into IEEE-488 instrument buses common in 1980s and 1990s automated test equipment (ATE) racks alongside other GPIB-controlled instruments. The TTL trigger, sync, burst, and hold I/O lines enable precise coordination with oscilloscopes, counters, and other lab instruments. Wavetek was a well-regarded San Diego-based manufacturer of signal and waveform generators from the 1960s through the 1990s; the Model 75 dates from the mid-to-late 1980s era of benchtop GPIB instrumentation. These instruments remain in use today in legacy ATE environments and university/industrial labs that maintain GPIB-based instrument racks.
This Wavetek Model 75 Arbitrary Waveform Generator has been inspected and is in good used condition overall. One rear rubber foot is missing, as shown in the photos. The unit powers on — the front-panel LCD displays the startup screen — and the front-panel controls, BNC connectors, and rear IEEE-488 GPIB port all appear intact and undamaged. The chassis shows light cosmetic wear consistent with normal lab use. Please view our photo set and contact us if you have any questions.
