The Vodavi Communications GK-4080 is the external power housing and expansion chassis for the Vodavi Starplus 96EX telephone system. Designed for connection to the GST Model 2402 PBX, it provides the physical card backplane and DC power input infrastructure needed to expand the Starplus 96EX beyond the capacity of its main cabinet. The unit houses multiple card slots on an internal backplane and accepts DC power through a rear-mounted multi-pin circular connector.

Applications
The Vodavi Starplus 96EX was a digital key/hybrid PBX telephone system introduced in the 1990s, capable of supporting up to 96 extensions when fully configured. Larger installations required an external expansion chassis — the GK-4080 — to house additional line, station, and feature cards beyond what the base cabinet could accommodate. The GK-4080 connects to the main GST 2402 control unit via a DC power feed and backplane interface, allowing the system to scale to its full 96-port capacity. These expansion housings are still sought after by organizations maintaining legacy Vodavi Starplus 96EX systems, as well as by technicians and dealers who service or refurbish older business telephone installations. The RJ21X jack interface and FCC Part 68 compliance are standard for telco-connected telephone equipment of this era.
This Vodavi Communications GK-4080 Starplus 96EX External Power Housing has been inspected and is in good used condition. The cabinet is intact with no major damage; the rear panel shows some light surface scuffing consistent with normal use. The DC IN multi-pin circular connector and ON/OFF rocker switch are present and appear intact. The interior backplane with card slot guides is present and shows no obvious physical damage.
