Applications

The Trident TGUI9440 series was a mainstream and budget-oriented PCI VGA chipset from the mid-1990s, commonly found in entry-level desktop PCs of the Windows 3.1 and early Windows 95 era. Trident Microsystems positioned this chipset for cost-sensitive OEM system builds, and cards based on it were widely shipped in consumer and small-business PCs between roughly 1993 and 1996. The TGUI9440 supported standard VESA resolutions and provided acceptable 2D Windows GUI acceleration for office and productivity use.
