The TriGem SFD-321B/LTGND is a 3.5-inch internal floppy disk drive (FDD) designed for standard desktop PC installations. It connects via a 34-pin ribbon data cable and a 4-pin Berg (mini) power connector, drawing DC 5V at 0.7A. The drive reads and writes 1.44MB HD 3.5-inch floppy diskettes using the standard double-sided, high-density format common to IBM-compatible PCs.

Applications
The 3.5-inch 1.44MB internal floppy drive was the standard removable-storage medium in IBM-compatible desktop PCs from the late 1980s through the early 2000s. At their peak, these drives were fitted in virtually every consumer and business desktop, used for software distribution, OS installation, data transfer between machines, and system boot media. By the mid-2000s, floppy drives were dropped from most new PC designs as USB flash drives took over the role. Today, 3.5-inch FDDs remain in active use in legacy industrial, medical, and CNC equipment — many older machines use floppy-based firmware update or parameter-storage routines and cannot easily be retrofitted with USB alternatives. Replacement internal FDDs are consistently sought after for maintaining these systems. The SFD-321B/LTGND fits standard 3.5-inch drive bays and is compatible with any desktop motherboard that provides a 34-pin FDD header.
