Applications
Klystron tubes of this type were standard power amplification devices in satellite uplink earth stations throughout the Ku-Band satcom era. The TH2485B supported fixed-frequency and channelized RF transmission in commercial and institutional satcom networks. Compatible with standard C-Band and Ku-Band satcom ground equipment architectures using WR-62 waveguide interfaces.

This Thomson TH2485B Ku-Band klystron tube has been inspected and appears to be in good physical condition. It was pulled from a working satcom environment where it was in active service. Important: the unit has been in storage for some time. Klystron tubes that have sat idle can gas up, and this one will likely need to be brought back up slowly (re-conditioned) before returning to full operation — this is a normal and expected process for klystrons after extended storage, not a defect.
