Applications
The TI-1250 was introduced by Texas Instruments around 1974–1975, during the height of the handheld calculator boom that TI helped ignite with the original Datamath. It was a mid-range consumer model aimed at home and student use, offering memory functions that set it above the most basic four-function calculators of the time. The glowing red LED display — powered by vacuum-fluorescent-era LED technology — is one of the most recognizable and sought-after features of 1970s calculators today. Units like this are collected both as working vintage electronics and as display pieces representing the early days of personal computing and consumer electronics. The TI-1250 is compatible with TI's AC 9180 power supply (included here), making it fully usable without sourcing a replacement battery or cover.
This Texas Instruments TI-1250 vintage pocket calculator has been inspected and is in good used condition overall. The red LED display powers on with the included AC 9180 adapter and shows digits clearly, as visible in our photos. The battery compartment cover is missing and no battery is included — the calculator runs fine on the included AC adapter. Keys and the faceplate show light yellowing and handling wear typical of a unit from this era. The original Texas Instruments AC 9180 9.5V DC 50mA power supply is included.
