Applications
The LR2-D series thermal overload relay is standard equipment in IEC motor starter assemblies used across industrial automation, HVAC systems, pumping stations, conveyor systems, and general manufacturing. These relays are paired with a matching contactor to form a complete motor starter — the contactor switches the motor on and off, while the overload relay monitors current draw and trips the circuit if the motor runs hot or draws excessive current, protecting the motor windings from damage. The LR2-D2353 covers the 23–32A range, making it suitable for driving motors roughly in the 11–15 kW (15–20 HP) range at 400V three-phase, depending on the application. The manual STOP button allows the operator to trigger a controlled trip, and the RESET button restores operation after a thermal trip event.
