Applications
Thermal wax transfer printers were widely used for color document output, presentation materials, and graphic proofs in design, publishing, and corporate environments from the 1990s through early 2000s. Compatible with legacy systems using RS-232, parallel, Ethernet, and LocalTalk networks. Typically interfaced with workstations, servers, and print spoolers on older Mac and PC networks.

This Tektronix Phaser IIsd Model 4684 Color Thermal Wax Transfer Printer powers on but has not been tested beyond that. It is being sold AS-IS for parts or repair with no functionality guarantee. No toner, ink, ribbon, or media is included — the unit uses Color Transfer Rolls, none of which are present. The exterior shows some yellowing on the plastic housing, consistent with age, but the overall structure appears intact. The internal transfer roll mechanism and paper path are visible and appear complete.
