Applications
The Tektronix 1225 belongs to Tektronix's 1200-series logic analyzer line, instruments that were widely used through the 1980s and early 1990s for digital hardware design, debug, and validation work. Logic analyzers of this type capture and display multiple digital signal lines simultaneously, letting engineers see the state (logic high/low) and timing relationships of buses, microprocessor control lines, and other digital circuits — tasks that a conventional oscilloscope is poorly suited for. The 1225's cross-trigger BNC and RS-232-C interface made it practical to coordinate captures with external instruments or to transfer data to a host computer for further analysis. Instruments like this were standard equipment in electronics R&D labs, manufacturing test floors, and field service depots working with the microprocessor-based systems of that era. Today they are sought by engineers maintaining or reverse-engineering legacy embedded systems, as well as collectors of classic test equipment.
This Tektronix 1225 Logic Analyzer has been inspected and powers on. The unit boots to firmware V2.41 and displays the Default Setup screen, as shown in our photos. The front bezel shows some yellowing and light soiling typical of equipment from this era, and there are minor scuff marks near the lower bezel, but overall the cosmetic condition is consistent with normal age-related wear. All three probe connectors (Probe A, Probe B, Probe C) are present and appear undamaged. The rear panel RS-232-C port, BNC trigger/video connectors, and IEC power inlet all look intact. No probes, cables, or manuals are included. Please review our photos and contact us with any questions.
