Description

Tektronix 465 Dual-Channel Analog Oscilloscope 100MHz Portable Benchtop

The Tektronix 465 is a 100 MHz dual-channel portable analog oscilloscope, one of the most widely used bench scopes in electronics history. It features two independent vertical channels, a delayed-sweep time base, and a front-panel calibrator output — all in a compact portable housing with a carry handle. The 465 uses a bright analog CRT with an illuminated graticule and provides direct-reading analog waveform display without the latency or aliasing of digital acquisition.

Applications

The Tektronix 465 was introduced in 1972 and became one of the best-selling oscilloscopes of its era — a mainstay on electronics workbenches in research labs, universities, military depots, and service shops throughout the 1970s and 1980s. Its combination of 100 MHz bandwidth, compact portable form, and dual-channel delayed sweep made it a benchmark instrument for its time. The 465 is still actively used today by electronics technicians, hobbyists, ham radio operators, and vintage-equipment enthusiasts who prefer analog oscilloscopes for their real-time continuous waveform display and the absence of digital sampling artifacts. It is well-suited for audio amplifier troubleshooting, analog circuit development, RF signal tracing at lower frequencies, and general-purpose two-channel waveform analysis. A large base of users and a robust repair community mean that replacement parts and service documentation remain widely available. The 465 accepts standard 10X passive probes with BNC connectors and is compatible with a wide range of Tektronix accessories from the same period.

Condition: Used
This Tektronix 465 Analog Oscilloscope has been pulled from a working environment where it was previously in use. The unit has been visually inspected and photographed. The front panel shows the typical wear expected of a used bench instrument of this era — controls, knobs, and the front panel face show general use marks. The rear BNC connectors show some surface oxidation, as visible in the photos. The CRT screen appears intact and the graticule illumination is functional as shown in the photos. The power cord is included. No probes are included. Please view our photo set and contact us if you have any questions.
