The Tektronix Scope-Mobile Type 200 is an original Tektronix-manufactured mobile laboratory cart designed to hold, transport, and position portable oscilloscopes in a lab or field environment. The cart features a tilting cradle arm that cradles the oscilloscope body at a comfortable working angle, a securing strap to hold the instrument in place during use or transport, a flat upper platform tray, a lower storage shelf, and a wheeled base with two large rubber rear wheels and two front swivel casters for easy rolling mobility.

Applications

The Tektronix Scope-Mobile was produced to give lab technicians and field engineers a convenient way to move and position bench oscilloscopes without carrying them by hand. Tektronix sold these carts as accessories alongside their portable oscilloscope lines from the mid-twentieth century onward, and they were common fixtures in electronics labs, university physics and engineering departments, military maintenance facilities, and industrial test benches. The tilting cradle keeps the oscilloscope screen at a comfortable viewing angle while the wheeled base allows the whole setup to be rolled from station to station. A cart in this style is still useful today for anyone running a Tektronix portable scope — or virtually any similarly sized bench instrument — and wanting a dedicated mobile stand rather than occupying a fixed bench position.
