Applications

The Tektronix 1745A is a professional broadcast-grade waveform and vectorscope monitor used in television production, post-production, and broadcast engineering facilities to measure and display video signal characteristics — waveform amplitude, chrominance phase and amplitude (vectorscope), and related parameters. It was widely used in analog composite video environments alongside routing switchers and production switchers in master control and editing suites. The companion 760A is a dedicated stereo audio monitor designed to display Left, Right, and AUX channel audio levels with high resolution dB metering, used alongside waveform monitors in broadcast and production facilities to ensure proper audio levels during recording and transmission. These instruments date from the late 1980s through the 1990s era of analog broadcast production and remain sought after for legacy facility maintenance and repair, CRT display restoration projects, and retro broadcast engineering applications.
