Applications
This array type was used for external storage expansion on Sun SPARCstation and server systems throughout the 1990s. The SCSI interface connected directly to host systems via wide SCSI controllers. Typical applications included disk storage for workgroups, archived data, and boot/application volumes on Unix-based systems. Compatible with Sun Microsystems SPARC-based platforms supporting external SCSI storage.

The top cover shows significant staining and residue from old labels or adhesive, and there is general surface soiling consistent with its age.
