Description
Sun Microsystems 525-1387-19 SPARC CPU Memory Board Enterprise Server Module
The Sun Microsystems 525-1387-19 is a SPARC CPU and memory board designed for use in Sun Enterprise-series server chassis. This large-format board integrates one or more SPARC processors along with an extensive bank of memory slots, serving as the primary compute and memory resource for the server system it populates. The board mounts into Sun's mid-plane bus infrastructure, where it communicates with I/O boards, storage, and other system resources.

Applications
Sun Microsystems produced these CPU/memory board modules for their Enterprise-class server lines of the mid-to-late 1990s, including the Sun Enterprise 4000, 5000, and 6000 series — large symmetric multiprocessing (SMP) systems used in data centers, universities, financial institutions, and scientific computing environments. In these systems, multiple CPU/memory boards could be populated simultaneously, each contributing additional SPARC processors and RAM to the shared system bus. The boards plug into a central mid-plane backplane, allowing hot-swap or offline replacement. Today, these boards are sought by organizations maintaining legacy Sun/Solaris infrastructure, as well as collectors of Sun workstation and server hardware from the SPARC era. The 525-1387 part number series is associated with Sun's fourth-generation Enterprise server architecture, which ran Solaris and was a dominant enterprise Unix platform through the late 1990s.
This Sun Microsystems 525-1387-19 SPARC CPU Memory Board has been tested at our facility and is in good working condition. The board shows normal cosmetic wear consistent with prior use in a server environment, including light surface marks on the metal chassis tray. The Sun sub-modules with their yellow labels are present and the memory slots appear clean and undamaged, as visible in the photos. Please view our photo set and contact us if you have any questions.
