Applications
Sony VP-7000, VP-5000, and VO-9600 are professional-grade commercial video player units designed for broadcast, institutional, and commercial playback environments. These machines were used in television stations, educational facilities, corporate video playback systems, and professional editing suites during the late 1980s and 1990s. The VP series represents Sony's midrange commercial VCR line, offering robust tape transport mechanisms, remote control interfaces, and reliable playback quality suitable for continuous-duty environments. Today, units like these remain valuable to restoration enthusiasts, collectors of vintage video equipment, and facilities maintaining legacy broadcast infrastructure. Parts from these machines—including tape mechanisms, capstan motors, control electronics, and precision optical components—are in demand for repairs of similar Sony and compatible equipment. This lot is ideal for parts harvesting, component extraction, or restoration of individual machines.
This lot consists of 19 Sony commercial video players in various models: 2 VP-7000 units, 16 VP-5000 units, and 1 VO-9600 unit. All units have been utilized for parts and are sold as-is for parts or repair purposes. Many functional components remain across the lot and may be suitable for harvesting or restoration projects.
