Description
Seasonic SS-220 200W AT XT Switching Power Supply Vintage 486 PC 90-260VAC
The Seasonic SS-220 is a 200-watt switching power supply built for the IBM PC AT and XT form factor, used in desktop computers from the mid-1980s through the early-to-mid 1990s. It provides four regulated DC output rails and includes an integrated front-panel rocker switch — the standard arrangement for AT-class machines before ATX soft-power switching became the norm.

Applications
The AT-style switching power supply was the standard power source for IBM PC AT–compatible desktop computers through the 286, 386, and 486 generations — roughly 1984 through the mid-1990s. These units connect to the motherboard via two separate 6-pin P8 and P9 connectors (keyed so both plugged in side by side) and provide the +5V, +12V, -5V, and -12V rails that AT-era boards and ISA expansion cards required. The integrated mechanical on/off switch was wired directly into the AC mains circuit, distinguishing AT supplies from the later ATX standard where the motherboard controls power-on through a soft-switched 5V standby rail. The Seasonic SS-220 was a well-regarded OEM supply of its era, used in a wide range of XT and AT clone desktop systems. Today these are sought by collectors, retro-computing enthusiasts, and technicians maintaining vintage machines — particularly 286, 386, and 486-class systems — where original-spec AT power supplies are increasingly difficult to find in tested working condition.
This Seasonic SS-220 200W AT/XT Switching Power Supply has been bench-tested at our facility and is in good working condition — it powers on a 486 PC and successfully displays BIOS. The steel enclosure shows light surface wear consistent with its vintage era, and all connectors appear intact. Please review our photos and contact us with any questions.
