HVD SCSI drives were standard in enterprise servers, workstations, and telecom equipment through the late 1990s. Compatible with systems using HVD SCSI controllers such as Adaptec AHA-2944UW models. Requires a dedicated HVD SCSI controller or HVD-to-LVD converter; not compatible with Single-Ended (SE) or Low Voltage Differential (LVD) SCSI systems. Typically found in legacy Sun, SGI, HP, and IBM server environments.
