The Sayett Datashow 480 is an LCD projection pad designed to sit on top of a standard overhead projector, displaying a computer's video output as a projected image on a screen or wall. The unit connects between a computer and an overhead projector to allow real-time computer screen presentations without a dedicated video projector — a common solution for classrooms, training rooms, and boardrooms before standalone LCD projectors became affordable. Applications
LCD projection pads like the Sayett Datashow 480 were a key presentation technology of the late 1980s and early 1990s, bridging the gap between personal computers and the overhead projectors already installed in conference rooms and classrooms. Rather than printing transparencies, users could connect a computer directly to the pad and project a live, interactive display. The Datashow line from Sayett Technology was among the early commercial LCD projection products, competing with similar offerings from nView, In Focus, and Proxima. Today these units are primarily of interest to vintage computing enthusiasts, retro tech collectors, and anyone maintaining or demonstrating period-correct Apple II or IBM PC setups.
This Sayett Datashow 480 LCD Projection Pad has been inspected and appears to be in good used condition. The unit was pulled from a working environment where it was previously in use. The LCD panel and indicator LEDs are visible in our photos, including a powered-on test pattern image. It has not been bench-tested at our facility. Included are the Sayett Datashow 480 Interface Cable #2299, the power supply adapter, and the original Sayett Technology soft carry case.
