Applications

The Saitek ST290 Pro was aimed at PC flight simulation enthusiasts looking for a full-featured joystick at an accessible price point. It was compatible with popular titles such as Microsoft Flight Simulator, Combat Flight Simulator, IL-2 Sturmovik, and similar games through DirectInput. Saitek (now owned by Logitech) produced the ST290 Pro during the mid-2000s as part of their entry-to-mid-range flight controller lineup, targeting sim pilots who wanted programmable controls and a throttle without stepping up to a full HOTAS setup. The USB interface means it works with any current or legacy Windows PC without needing a legacy 15-pin game port, and it is generally recognized by modern Windows versions as a standard HID joystick device.
