Applications
The uV48-24 MicroVerter is designed for use in systems powered from a 48VDC distribution bus — a standard in telecom central offices, data centers, and industrial control cabinets — where downstream loads require a regulated 24VDC supply. Typical applications include powering 24V process control equipment, industrial sensors, actuators, and automation devices fed from a 48V telecom or rectifier bus. The wide 36–72VDC input tolerance accommodates real-world bus variations, and the parallel ON/OFF control pin allows the converter to be switched on and off by an external signal, which is useful for sequencing or load-shedding in multi-rail systems. The SYNC terminal supports clock synchronization when multiple converters run in parallel to reduce EMI from intermodulation. RO Associates produced the MicroVerter series in the United States; the U.S. patent dates this design to the early 1990s, and these modules remain in use today wherever a 48V bus and 24V loads coexist.
