The Rimage 5661C is a large-format bulk degausser and demagnetizer chamber designed for the complete erasure of magnetic storage media. It uses a powerful undulating magnetic field to saturate and randomize the magnetic domains on stored media, rendering the data permanently unrecoverable. This unit has been tested at our facility and confirmed working — we erased a mechanical hard drive and it was no longer recognized by our computer systems after a single pass.
