Applications

The OmniFax L46 is a mid-1990s plain paper desktop fax machine aimed at small offices and workgroups that needed higher-quality output than the thermal-paper fax machines of the era. Plain paper fax machines like this one addressed a common complaint about thermal fax paper — that it faded, curled, and couldn't be written on easily — by printing received faxes onto ordinary copy paper. The L46's integrated copy function and optional PC printer interface made it a compact multifunction device for offices that wanted fax, copy, and basic printing from a single desktop unit. This type of equipment was widely used in corporate offices, law firms, and small businesses through the 1990s.
