Description
Radio Shack TRS-80 DWP-410 Daisy Wheel Printer 26-1250A Centronics Tandy 120V
The Radio Shack TRS-80 DWP-410 is a desktop daisy wheel printer produced by Tandy Corporation and custom manufactured in Japan for sale through Radio Shack stores. It connects via a standard 36-pin Centronics parallel interface and was designed as a letter-quality printer for the TRS-80 line of personal computers. Unlike dot matrix printers of the same era, daisy wheel technology produced fully formed characters by striking a spinning wheel of type elements against a ribbon, resulting in output comparable to an electric typewriter.

Applications
The DWP-410 was sold by Radio Shack during the early-to-mid 1980s as a letter-quality output peripheral for the TRS-80 line, including the Model III, Model 4, and Model II. Daisy wheel printers occupied the high end of the personal computer printer market in that era — above dot matrix in print quality and used wherever correspondence-quality output was needed, such as business letters, reports, and word processing. The Centronics parallel interface also made the DWP-410 compatible with other personal computers of the period that supported a parallel port, including early IBM PC compatibles. Daisy wheel technology was largely displaced by laser printers and high-resolution inkjet printers by the late 1980s, making surviving units like this one sought-after collectibles for TRS-80 enthusiasts and vintage computing collections.
This Radio Shack TRS-80 DWP-410 Daisy Wheel Printer has yellowed plastic housing, which is typical and expected aging for equipment of this era. The unit appears structurally intact with no broken panels or missing parts visible. The front control panel badges and switches are all present, the Centronics parallel port on the rear is intact, and the power cord is included. The unit has not been powered up or tested at our facility, but it was previously in use and is being sold in as-found condition.
