Applications
This style of 4U rackmount ATX chassis was commonly used in industrial computing, embedded systems integration, and custom rack-mounted PC builds where standard ATX components needed to fit into a 19-inch equipment rack. The 4U height provides ample internal clearance for full-size ATX motherboards, multiple drive bays, and large add-in cards. These enclosures are used in data acquisition systems, machine control PCs, test-bench servers, and any application where a standard desktop computer needs to be rack-integrated. The front keyboard lock and separate PWR/HDD LED indicators are typical features of 1990s–early 2000s industrial and semi-ruggedized rackmount computer enclosures intended for shared or controlled-access environments. Rack builders, system integrators, and hobbyists still seek out these bare chassis for custom ATX builds where the rack form factor is required.
This 4U 19-inch rackmount aluminum computer chassis has been inspected and is in good used condition. The chassis is empty — no power supply, motherboard, or drives are installed. An internal 120mm fan and wiring harness (power leads and front-panel header wires) are present. The exterior shows normal wear consistent with previous use, including light surface scuffs on the beige powder coat. The rear I/O panel area is open with no backplate installed.
