Applications
The Excalibur Central Site chassis functioned as a core WAN multiplexing platform in enterprise and carrier networks. It aggregated multiple V.35 data circuits and DS1/T1 lines, consolidating traffic across wide-area links. Typical deployments included central offices and branch aggregation sites within larger Racal-Datacom Excalibur WAN access systems. The managed monitor board enabled circuit-level visibility and control over aggregated connections.
This Racal-Datacom Excalibur Central Site WAN access chassis has been inspected and appears to be in good used condition. It was pulled from a working environment where it was previously in service. The chassis includes six populated card slots: four Aggregate SP/MP DTE V.35 boards, one DS1 Aggregate board, and one Monitor board. The metal chassis top shows cosmetic discoloration (iridescent surface finish typical of aged aluminum), and the front panel plastic shows light wear consistent with field use. Board part numbers visible include 07P0804B-1/A, 15P1302AA/0 (15P1302A-1/D), and 07P08AAF-2/B. This unit has not been powered up or tested at our facility.
