Applications
The Proxima DP5900 was designed for business and educational use in the mid-to-late 1990s, when portable LCD projectors were replacing bulky overhead projectors in conference rooms, training rooms, and classrooms. The dual computer input design allowed presenters to connect two PCs and switch between them without rewiring — useful in collaborative settings. Its composite RCA and S-Video inputs also made it suitable for playing back video from VCRs, DVD players, and cameras. Today, units like this are still used in hobbyist home theater setups, vintage AV collections, and low-demand presentation environments where newer HD resolutions aren't required. The monitor loop-through output also allowed a presenter to simultaneously display content on a connected monitor.
This Proxima Desktop Projector 5900 (DP5900) LCD projector powers on and displays a good image using RCA inputs. Lamp hours are not available. The remote control is not included. The unit shows typical wear for its age — the dark plastic housing is intact with no major damage visible in the photos. Please view our photo set and contact us if you have any questions.
