Description
PMR/TRQ-3/U Range Timing Receiver Rackmount 73B100 IRIG-B Pacific Missile Range
The PMR/TRQ-3/U is a military-grade Range Timing Radio Receiver built for use in missile range instrumentation systems. Designated part number 73B100 and assembly 13672ASSY, this unit was part of the PMR/TD-29/TRQ timing system operated by the HQ Pacific Missile Range Technical Support Department. It receives and distributes IRIG-B time code signals used to synchronize instrumentation across range assets during test and evaluation operations.

Applications
The PMR/TRQ-3/U was designed for missile range timing and instrumentation use at the Pacific Missile Range (now part of the Pacific Missile Range Facility, Barking Sands, Hawaii). Range timing receivers like this one receive IRIG-B time code — a standardized analog or digital time-of-day signal — and distribute synchronized timing pulses to radar, telemetry, optical tracking, and data recording systems across a test range. IRIG-B (Inter-Range Instrumentation Group format B) was developed in the 1950s and 1960s by the U.S. military's Range Commanders Council specifically for synchronizing instrumentation across geographically dispersed range assets during weapons and missile test events. The PMR/TD-29/TRQ system, of which this receiver is a component, was part of the ground-based time distribution infrastructure supporting those test operations. Today, units like this are sought by military surplus collectors, range instrumentation historians, aerospace museums, and engineers working on vintage IRIG-B compatible systems.
This PMR/TRQ-3/U Range Timing Radio Receiver (73B100) is being sold in used condition. The unit has been visually inspected and appears to be in good overall condition. The aluminum chassis shows light surface wear and minor scuffing consistent with prior service use. Front panel controls, rotary timing channel selector, and BNC antenna connector are all present and appear intact. Rear panel connector labels (IRIG-B Timing, Antenna, Timing, LED, Neon outputs) are clearly legible. This is a vintage piece of military range instrumentation and has not been powered up or tested at our facility. Please view our photo set and contact us if you have any questions. Please note: We have multiple units in stock — yours may not be the one shown in the photos, however, it will be similar in condition and function.
