The Phoenix Microsystems 1500-250 is a benchtop RS-232 interface module and communications analyzer designed for testing, monitoring, and switching between DCE and DTE devices on RS-232 serial links. Known as the Model 1500 COMIT, it provides full EIA-CCITT RS-232 signal monitoring with an integrated alphanumeric keypad and LCD display, allowing technicians to observe line status, inject errors, run BERT (Bit Error Rate Tests), and control signal states — all from a compact, self-contained instrument. The unit is manufactured by Phoenix Microsystems Inc. of Huntsville, Alabama.

Applications

This Phoenix Microsystems 1500-250 RS-232 Interface Module has been inspected and is in good used condition. It was pulled from a working environment where it was in active use and functional. The enclosure shows typical handling wear — scuffing and light scratches on the blue metal housing, with some paint loss visible on the corners and edges. The front panel keypad, LCD window, and signal indicator area are intact. The rear RS-232C Control Port DB-25 connector and BNC EXT CLOCK input appear undamaged.
