Applications
The Philips Voice System 900 series was a high-end professional dictation platform used primarily in legal, medical, and corporate office environments during the 1980s and early 1990s. These modular systems allowed multiple authors to dictate via telephone or direct microphone, with transcriptionists operating the tape stations using the included foot pedal for hands-free playback control. The Telephone Interface 904 enabled remote telephone dictation, a key feature for busy offices where authors needed to dictate from outside the building. Systems like the Voice System 900 were the backbone of centralized dictation departments before digital dictation and voice-recognition software replaced them in the late 1990s and 2000s. Today they are sought by collectors of vintage office technology and by organizations still maintaining legacy analog dictation workflows.
This Philips Voice System 900 (LFH0901/00) dictation system was pulled from a working environment and appears to be in good used condition. The system shows normal wear consistent with office use, including minor scuffs and scrapes on the cabinet surfaces. All included components — the System Controller 900, two Tape Station 901 units, Telephone Interface 904, foot pedal, and power supply — are present as described. No manual is included.
