The PerkinElmer N305-0683 is an Electrodeless Discharge Lamp (EDL) for Thallium (Tl) designed for use with the PerkinElmer EDL System 2 power supply. EDL lamps provide significantly higher spectral intensity and longer useful life than conventional hollow cathode lamps for certain elements, making them the preferred light source for elements such as thallium in atomic absorption spectroscopy (AAS) applications. Applications
Electrodeless Discharge Lamps are used as primary light sources in atomic absorption spectrometers (AAS), including PerkinElmer instruments such as the AAnalyst, Analyst, and earlier AA spectrometer series that accept EDL System 2 accessories. They are the preferred source lamp for elements — including thallium — where hollow cathode lamps produce insufficient intensity or short working life. Thallium analysis by AAS is common in environmental monitoring (water and soil testing for heavy metals), geological survey work, and industrial process control. The EDL System 2 format requires a compatible PerkinElmer EDL driver/power supply to operate the lamp; the lamp itself does not self-ignite.
This PerkinElmer N305-0683 EDL System 2 Thallium (Tl) electrodeless discharge lamp has been inspected and appears to be in good used condition. The lamp body, plug adapter, and carry case are all present and show only normal handling wear consistent with lab use. The gold pins on the plug connector are intact and free of corrosion.
