Description
Panasonic ET-100DS Advanced Digital Scan Converter RGB BNC S-Video 120V
The Panasonic ET-100DS is an Advanced Digital Scan Converter designed to accept standard composite video and S-Video signals and convert them to a higher-frequency RGB output suitable for video projectors and large-screen presentation displays. It accepts up to three composite video inputs and one S-Video input, then outputs an RGB signal via BNC connectors at 31.5kHz — a scan rate compatible with many analog RGB and VGA-class projectors of its era. A four-button front-panel Input Selector makes source switching straightforward, and video level controls (VIDEO, V-, V+, NORM) plus noise reduction (NR) and FRAME/LINE processing options are accessible from the front panel.

Applications
Scan converters like the ET-100DS were used extensively in the 1990s for professional presentation and AV integration, where the goal was to feed standard video source material — VCRs, cameras, or laserdisc players — into video projectors that required a higher scan-rate RGB input rather than direct composite or S-Video. By digitally converting the incoming 15.75kHz video signal to a 31.5kHz RGB output, the ET-100DS allowed projectors designed for computer signals to display broadcast-standard video content cleanly. This made it a common piece of equipment in corporate presentation rooms, conference centers, training facilities, and broadcast/production environments where multiple video sources needed to be routed to a single large-format projector. The unit's S-Video input and multi-channel composite switching also made it useful as a light video router in AV rack installations. Today, units like this serve the vintage AV and legacy projection market, as well as hobbyists and institutions maintaining older analog projection systems.
This Panasonic ET-100DS Advanced Digital Scan Converter has been inspected and is in good used condition. It was pulled from a working environment where it was previously in service. The chassis shows typical light surface wear consistent with normal use — some minor scuffing is visible on the top and front panels in the photos. All front-panel pushbuttons and rear connectors appear intact and undamaged. Please view our photo set and contact us if you have any questions.
