Applications
The Orinoco RG-1000 was developed by Lucent Technologies in the early 2000s as part of the Orinoco residential gateway line, targeting homes and small offices moving from dial-up to DSL broadband. At that time, 802.11b (Wi-Fi at up to 11 Mbps) was the dominant wireless standard, and all-in-one DSL gateways like the RG-1000 were among the first consumer devices to combine DSL modem functionality with integrated Wi-Fi in a single unit. The Orinoco brand had strong credibility in enterprise wireless networking, and the RG-1000 brought that pedigree to the residential market. Today this unit is primarily of interest to vintage networking collectors, Orinoco enthusiasts, retro home-network builders, and anyone maintaining legacy early-2000s DSL infrastructure.
This Lucent Orinoco RG-1000 Wireless Residential Gateway is in like-new condition and comes in its original retail box. The unit shows no significant wear — the housing is clean and the front-panel status LEDs are intact. All original accessories are present: the AK II Technology 9V power supply, configuration CD-ROM, and telephone cable. Please view our photo set and contact us if you have any questions.
