The Microline 193 Plus connects via a standard Centronics parallel port — the universal printer connection of its era — and is compatible with any PC or workstation equipped with a parallel port. Impact dot matrix printers like this one remain in active use today wherever multi-part (carbonless copy) forms are required, such as invoices, shipping documents, and work orders, because only impact printers can strike through multiple layers simultaneously. They are also used in industrial and point-of-sale environments where continuous-feed fanfold paper is standard. Replacement ribbon cartridges for the Microline 193 series remain readily available.
