Applications
Bias tees of this type are used in Nokia's GSM and cellular base station infrastructure to supply DC power to tower-mounted amplifiers (TMAs) or mast-head amplifiers (MHAs) over the existing RF coax feed line, eliminating the need for a separate DC power run up the tower. The VSWR monitoring function allows the BTS to continuously measure reflected power on the antenna line, flagging faults such as a disconnected antenna, damaged cable, or connector failure. This unit is labeled for the 900 MHz band (T900) and integrates into Nokia's BTS PITA (Plug-In Tower Accessory) system architecture, which was widely deployed in Nokia 2G and early 3G base stations from the late 1990s through the 2000s. This Nokia CS7299413 WBVB Bias Tee was pulled from a working BTS environment where it was in active use. The unit has been inspected and is in good used condition. The white housing is clean with no cracks or significant damage. The BTS-side 7-16 DIN connector and PITA multi-pin connector appear in good shape. The antenna-side face shows some oxidation/discoloration on the brass mounting flange area, which is visible in the photos and consistent with field use.
