This is a Pulnix TM-745 CCD microscope camera system complete with a fiber optic illuminator tube assembly and a fan-cooled fiber optic light source unit, removed together from a McBain Mask Aligner. The TM-745 is a compact monochrome CCD camera designed for machine vision and microscopy integration, outputting an analog composite video signal suitable for monitors, frame grabbers, and image analysis systems. The system includes an articulating mount/arm assembly that positions the camera over the optical path, with a switchable brightfield/darkfield illumination mode.

Applications

The Pulnix TM-745 is a machine vision CCD camera used in semiconductor inspection, photolithography, and precision optical alignment systems. Mask aligners — such as the McBain units common in semiconductor fab and university cleanroom environments from the 1980s through the 2000s — used integrated camera and fiber optic illumination systems like this one to allow operators to visually align photomasks to wafer patterns on a video monitor rather than through an eyepiece.
