Applications

Ultrasonic generators like the SweepSONIK 2 are the power and control heart of an ultrasonic cleaning system, converting line power into the high-frequency electrical energy that drives the piezoelectric transducers bonded to a cleaning tank. At 40 kHz, the system produces cavitation — the rapid formation and collapse of microscopic bubbles — that scrubs contaminants from parts at a scale that brushes and solvents cannot reach. The swept-frequency design NEY patented was specifically developed to overcome the cleaning non-uniformity that plagues single-frequency generators: by continuously modulating the drive frequency across the 380–530 Hz sweep band, the generator prevents standing wave nodes from forming in fixed locations, resulting in more even energy distribution throughout the tank volume. This technology was widely used in precision parts cleaning for aerospace, medical device manufacturing, electronics, optics, and semiconductor applications — industries where complete and uniform removal of particulates, oils, and flux residues is critical.
