The NEC DTU-8-1 is a digital desktop business phone designed for use with NEC Key Telephone Systems (KTS). It features an integrated LCD display, eight programmable line/feature buttons, a full alphanumeric keypad, one-touch function keys (Hold, Transfer, Answer, Speaker), and a built-in speakerphone. The unit is finished in black (model suffix BK) and connects via modular RJ-style jacks. A dedicated headset port is also provided on the underside.

Applications
The NEC DTU-8 series are digital key telephones designed for NEC's Key Telephone System (KTS) platforms, including the NEC NEAX and Electra Elite lines that were widely deployed in small-to-medium business environments through the 1990s and 2000s. These phones operate on NEC's proprietary digital station signaling and require a compatible NEC KTS system or PBX to function — they are not analog or SIP devices. Typical deployments included offices, hotels, call centers, and multi-line business environments where centralized call management, intercom, and line sharing were needed. Replacement handsets for legacy NEC KTS installations remain in demand for businesses still running these systems, making the DTU-8-1 a practical service-replacement or spare unit.
This NEC DTU-8-1 digital office phone is in good used condition. It was pulled from a working office environment where it was previously in service. The phone has not been powered up or tested at our facility. The housing is clean with minor cosmetic wear typical of a used office handset. The LCD display, keypad, and all buttons appear intact with no visible cracks or damage. Both the LINE and HEAD SET modular ports on the underside appear clean and undamaged.
