Applications
The NEC DTU-16D series digital key telephones are designed for use with NEC KTS business telephone platforms, including the NEC Electra Elite, NEAX, and Aspire series systems, which were widely deployed in small-to-medium office environments from the 1990s through the 2000s. These phones function as digital endpoints on a proprietary NEC key system and are not compatible with standard analog lines or VoIP systems without an adapter. They are commonly sought as replacement or expansion handsets for organizations that continue to run legacy NEC KTS infrastructure, as well as by system integrators and IT/telecom shops that support and maintain NEC business phone systems. The 16-button configuration supports multiple line appearances and speed-dial or feature keys, making it suitable for receptionists, office staff, and multi-line user positions.
This NEC DTU-16D-2 BK digital office phone has been inspected and appears to be in good used condition. The LCD display and keypad show light surface wear consistent with office use. A minor scuff mark is visible on the bezel above the LCD display (visible in photos), and the handset and coiled cord are included. The phone was pulled from a working office environment where it was previously in service. It has not been powered up or tested at our facility.
