Description
Natural Microsystems Watson II Voice Telephony Card ISA FCC EMC54S-15118-MD-E
The Natural Microsystems Watson II is an ISA-bus computer telephony integration (CTI) card designed to add voice processing and telephone line interfacing capability to a desktop PC. It provides a hardware bridge between a standard POTS telephone line and the host computer, enabling applications such as automated attendants, interactive voice response (IVR), voice mail, fax-on-demand, and call processing software to operate directly from the PC. The card is FCC Part 68 registered (EMC54S-15118-MD-E) with a ringer equivalence of 0.8B, indicating it meets FCC requirements for direct connection to the public switched telephone network.

Applications
The Watson II belongs to the generation of ISA-bus computer telephony integration cards that were widely deployed in the late 1980s and throughout the 1990s, when ISA was the dominant expansion bus in IBM-compatible PCs. Natural Microsystems was a well-regarded manufacturer of CTI hardware during this era, producing cards used in call centers, voicemail systems, IVR platforms, and small-business telephone automation. These cards connected directly to analog telephone lines via RJ-11, allowing PC software to answer calls, play and record voice prompts, detect DTMF tones, and transfer calls — functions that are now handled by software-based VoIP systems but at the time required dedicated hardware. The Watson II would have been used with NMS's own drivers and SDK, or compatible third-party CTI middleware. Today these cards are sought by collectors of vintage PC hardware, researchers maintaining legacy telephony systems, and developers working with period-accurate CTI software environments. The ISA bus limits compatibility to older motherboards with ISA slots, typically 286 through early Pentium-era systems.
This Natural Microsystems Watson II Voice/Telephony ISA card is being sold AS-IS. It was pulled from an older computer system that was disassembled for parts and has not been tested with software or otherwise at our facility — functionality cannot be confirmed. The card appears physically intact with no obvious damage visible in the photos; the bracket-mounted RJ-11 phone and line ports and 3.5mm jack are present. Sold for parts or repair with no functionality guarantee. Please view our photo set and contact us if you have any questions.
