Description
National Instruments PCI-GPIB/+ IEEE 488.2 Interface Card NI GPIB PCI Bus
The National Instruments PCI-GPIB/+ is a full-featured IEEE 488.2 GPIB interface card for PCI bus computers. It adds a single GPIB port to any PCI slot PC, allowing software control of GPIB-compatible test and measurement instruments such as oscilloscopes, signal generators, power supplies, spectrum analyzers, and other lab equipment. The card is built around National Instruments' own mMITE3-A GPIB controller chip in combination with the TNT4882C ASIC, providing hardware-accelerated IEEE 488.2 compliance.

Applications
GPIB (General Purpose Interface Bus), also known as IEEE 488 or HP-IB, is the standard instrument control bus used throughout the test and measurement industry since the 1970s. The PCI-GPIB/+ is used to connect a Windows or Linux PC to a bench of GPIB-equipped instruments, enabling automated test sequences, data acquisition, and instrument programming through National Instruments' NI-488.2 driver software and NI-VISA. It is widely used in electronics labs, semiconductor test environments, production test systems, and research facilities that rely on legacy GPIB instruments — a category that includes a vast installed base of Agilent/HP, Tektronix, Keithley, Fluke, Rohde & Schwarz, and similar equipment. The PCI-GPIB/+ was one of NI's most popular GPIB cards during the late 1990s and 2000s when PCI was the dominant expansion bus, and it remains in active use today wherever GPIB instruments are maintained and operated.
This National Instruments PCI-GPIB/+ IEEE 488.2 interface card has been inspected and appears to be in good used condition. The PCB is clean with no visible damage, broken traces, or burnt components. The GPIB connector on the bracket shows normal handling wear. This card was pulled from a working environment where it was previously in service. It has not been powered up or tested at our facility.
