Description

Motorola HT50 H44BEU7120NC Synthesized Portable UHF 2-Way Radio w/ Charger NTN4864A

The Motorola HT50 is a synthesized portable UHF two-way radio designed for professional communications use. It operates in the UHF band with a synthesized (frequency-agile) architecture, allowing channel selection via top-panel switches rather than fixed crystals. This listing includes the radio body, the original Motorola NTN4864A desktop drop-in charger, and the NTN5453B NiCd battery pack — however, the battery no longer holds a charge and will need to be replaced before the radio can be put into service. Applications

The Motorola HT50 is a late-1980s to early-1990s era portable UHF radio from Motorola's HT (Handy-Talkie) series, which was widely used by public safety, security, utilities, and light commercial operations during that period. The synthesized design — as opposed to the earlier crystal-controlled portables it succeeded — allowed users to program and switch frequencies without changing physical crystals, making the radio more versatile across different channel plans. The HT50 and its relatives were standard issue in many municipal, campus security, and industrial settings through the 1990s. Today these radios are sought by legacy radio technicians, hobbyists, and collectors restoring period-correct communications equipment, as well as buyers who need a parts donor for other HT-series Motorola portables. A functioning replacement NiCd or compatible NiMH battery pack would be needed to return this unit to operational use.

Condition: Used
This Motorola HT50 Synthesized Portable UHF 2-Way Radio (H44BEU7120NC) has been inspected and is in used condition with normal wear for its age. The top panel controls, speaker, and body show light scuffing and grime consistent with field use; the front logo badge and Synthesized label are intact and legible. The included Motorola NTN5453B NiCd battery pack (date-coded 12/2002) no longer holds a charge and will need to be replaced before the radio can be used. The Motorola NTN4864A desktop charger is included and appears functional. No antenna is included with this listing. Please view our photo set and contact us if you have any questions.
