Description

MKS HPS Stainless Steel Vacuum Bellows KF-40 NW-40 1.75in Bore 9.75in Long

This is a stainless steel flexible vacuum bellows manufactured by HPS, a division of MKS Instruments, based in Boulder, Colorado. It features KF-40 (NW-40) quick-clamp flanges on both ends and a corrugated accordion body that allows axial, lateral, and angular movement while maintaining a vacuum-tight seal. The flanges and sealing surfaces are clean and in good condition.

Applications

Vacuum bellows like this are standard components in high-vacuum and rough-vacuum systems used in semiconductor fabrication, thin-film deposition, research laboratories, and scientific instrumentation. The KF-40 (NW-40) clamp-flange standard is one of the most widely used quick-connect interfaces in the vacuum industry, compatible with a broad range of turbomolecular pumps, roughing pumps, chambers, and gauging components. Flexible bellows serve several functions in these systems: they isolate mechanical pump vibration from sensitive chamber equipment, allow for slight misalignment between flanged components, and accommodate thermal expansion. HPS (High Purity Systems), now part of MKS Instruments, has long been a recognized supplier of vacuum fittings, valves, and components for semiconductor and research applications.

Condition: Used
This MKS HPS stainless steel vacuum bellows was pulled from a working vacuum system and has been visually inspected. The corrugated body and both KF-40 flanges are intact and show no visible damage. The convolutions show light surface discoloration and minor oxidation consistent with normal use in a vacuum environment, as visible in the photos. The flange faces and sealing surfaces appear clean and undamaged. Please view our photo set and contact us if you have any questions.
