Applications
The Mitel Smart-1 PAV+ was designed for use in Mitel PBX telephony systems requiring account code or authorization code verification before call completion. Positive Account Verification systems are used in environments such as hotels, motels, universities, hospitals, and corporate campuses where telephone access must be controlled and billed to specific accounts. The controller sits in-line on the telephone network interface and communicates with the PBX to validate account codes in real time. The Smart-1 platform was Mitel's programmable controller line of the early-to-mid 1990s, and the PAV+ variant added enhanced account verification capability over the base Smart-1 unit.
