Applications
Circular safety chucks are used in web-handling and roll-processing machinery to hold and drive air shafts during slitting, rewinding, laminating, and flexographic or gravure printing operations. The safety chuck mounts to the machine frame at the flange and engages the air shaft's drive lug, transmitting torque to the roll while allowing the operator to load and unload shafts quickly. Circular-style chucks like the MFO-60 are common on European and Asian web-press and converting equipment where round-flange mounts are standard. They are a direct retrofit for square safety chuck positions on compatible machines and are widely used in paper, film, foil, and nonwovens converting lines.

This Minply MFW MFO-60 Circular Safety Chuck has been inspected and shows significant signs of use and age consistent with industrial service. Surface rust is present across the steel body, flange face, and interior drive jaw mechanism, as visible throughout the photos. The chuck spins smoothly on its bearing. The drive jaw is somewhat stiff to open due to rust buildup; this is a cosmetic/mechanical surface issue that can typically be addressed with penetrating lubricant and cleaning.
