Applications
This enclosure was used to expand storage capacity on Sun workstations and servers during the 1990s and 2000s. It connects via SCSI interface and supports standard SCSI hard drives of that era. The unit provides thermal management and individual drive monitoring through its digital display. Compatible with Sun SPARC and x86 systems running Solaris and other Unix-based operating systems.

This MDB Systems DS2200-SUN SCSI Dual Drive Bay Enclosure has been tested and is in working order. We ran the built-in self-diagnostics multiple times with no errors reported. The unit powers on normally, and both drive doors with their digital scrolling readouts function as expected. Cosmetically, the top panel shows iridescent discoloration (visible in photos), and the chassis shows the general light scuffing typical of used equipment.
