This is a lot of 10 complete cable set pairs consisting of 10 male and 10 female MC3 solar panel connectors with attached PV wire, each cable 22 inches long. These are new old stock sourced directly from the Unisolar factory during the company's 2012 liquidation. This is the older MC3 connector style, which has become increasingly hard to find as the industry has moved on — a useful find for anyone maintaining or expanding legacy MC3-based solar installations.

Applications

MC3 connectors are an older-generation solar panel interconnect standard that preceded the now-dominant MC4 format. They were widely used in thin-film and crystalline solar panel installations, including Unisolar laminates and early Kyocera, Shell Solar, and BP Solar panels. MC3 cables are used to connect solar panels in series or parallel strings, or to extend panel leads to a combiner box or charge controller. Because the solar industry has largely standardized on MC4, genuine new MC3 connector stock is becoming rare, making these useful for legacy system repair, expansion, or replacement of damaged leads on older installations. The bare cut ends on these cables allow the installer to attach ring terminals, land directly on a combiner bus, or terminate to a junction box as needed.
