Marconi TF 1245 Circuit Magnification Meter Q-Factor Vintage 1960s SRA
Benchtop Q-meter for measuring circuit magnification (Q factor) and loss angle (δQ) across radio frequencies. Manufactured by Marconi Instruments in England during the 1960s and distributed by Svenska Radioaktiebolaget (SRA) in Stockholm.

Applications
Q-meters measure resonant circuit characteristics and component losses in RF and telecommunications work. The TF 1245 was used for bench testing inductors, capacitors, and tuned circuits in radio and telecom equipment development and maintenance. Compatible with Marconi TF 1246, TF 1247 oscillators and TM 5728 transformer for extended frequency coverage.

Due to its age — this is a 1960s-era instrument — we are unable to verify its working status. Cosmetically the unit looks reasonably good overall: the gray metal cabinet is intact, the two analog meter faces (Q Multiplier and Q & δQ) are present and readable, and the front-panel controls and input terminal block appear complete. The rear power cable is the original brown type and shows the age of the instrument; the leather cable-retention strap is heavily rusted. The fuse panel on the rear shows two fuse holders (1A and 150mA). The SRA Svenska Radioaktiebolaget Stockholm distributor badge is present on the front panel alongside the Marconi Instruments nameplate.
