Applications
The LXE 200 series was an early industrial wireless LAN platform introduced in the late 1980s and early 1990s, well before 802.11 Wi-Fi became standard. LXE (Electromagnetic Sciences) was a pioneer in ruggedized RF data terminals for industrial environments. The 200 Integrated Base Station served as the fixed access point in a spread-spectrum or narrowband RF network, bridging mobile barcode scanners and vehicle-mount terminals on the warehouse or factory floor to a host computer system — typically an IBM AS/400, minicomputer, or Unix host — via the RS-232 Host port. The Console port allowed a local terminal to monitor and configure the base station. These systems were widely deployed in distribution centers, manufacturing plants, and retail warehouses throughout the early 1990s, replacing time-consuming batch scanning with real-time inventory and order data. Facilities still running legacy LXE 200-series mobile terminals require a compatible base station like this unit to maintain their wireless infrastructure.
This LXE 200IBSL01 Integrated Base Station Transceiver has been inspected and appears to be in good condition. The enclosure shows light surface wear consistent with normal use, and all rear panel ports — RF coax, Console DB-25, and Host DB-25 — appear intact with no visible damage. Front panel LED indicators and labeling are clear and legible. Please view our photo set and contact us if you have any questions.
